There is something that is perfect in its disorder
Which is born before Heaven and Earth
So silent and desolate !
It establishes itself without renewal
Functions universally without lapse
We can regard it as the Mother of Everything
I don't know its name
Hence , when force to name it, I call it "Tao"
When forced to categorize it, I call it great
Greatness entails transcendence
Transcendence entails going far
Going far entails return
Hence, Tao is great, heaven is great
The Earth is great and the human is also great
Within our realm there are four greatnesses
and the human being is one of them
Human beings follow the Earth
Earth follows Heaven
Heaven follows the Tao
The Tao follows the way things are

What preceded life? The earth
What preceded the earth
The universe
What preceded the universe ?
The soundless and shapeless, origin of origins
Ever transforming and having no beginning nor end
This Mother of the universe is boundless ,and nameless
But if we want to share with you anything
About this remarkable non-existing executor
we must invent a name for it
 We call it the Tao because Tao means great
 Incredibly great because it occupies infinite space
being fully present in the whole universe
and in every infinitesimal particle
Because this Great Integrity created the universe
And the universe created the earth
And the earth creates us
We are all incredibly great
Life derives from the nature of the earth
The earth derives from the nature of the universe
The universe derives from the nature of the Great Integrity
And the Great Integrity is the omnipresent , omnigenous omniform
The universal material and spiritual substance
and the holoversal interlinkage and coition of existence

Lạm Bàn: Nhưng, thế nào là sống theo lẽ của Tự Nhiên để có thể hoà hợp được với người và với trời đất ? Là sống theo : "the ways things are" theo hiểu biết của Charles Muller , là "go with the flow " theo hiểu biết của Raph Alan Dale , là hãy cứ "vi vô vi, sự vô sự , vị vô vị" - hãy làm ,hãy lo ,hãy ăn ở như mình nghĩ là phải làm , phải lo, phải ăn ở sao cho phải lẽ , còn hậu quả ra sao , có vừa ý hay không, thì cũng nên chấp nhận và nên "dĩ đức báo oán" - lấy đức báo oán , theo như trong Đạo Đức Kinh?
