Tạo hoá gây chi cuộc hý trường,
Đến nay thấm thoắt mấy tinh sương.
Lối xưa xe ngựa hồn thu thảo,
Nền cũ lâu đài bóng tịch dương.
Đá vẫn trơ gan cùng tuế nguyệt,
Nước còn chau mặt với tang thương.
Nghìn năm gương cũ soi kim cổ,
Cảnh đấy người đây luống đoạn trường.

Why did the Creator cause such tragicomedy,
Hitherto so many dawns have come swiftly around.
The sprit of autumn grass grooves in the old imprint of horse carriages,
The shade of sunset covers the foundation of ancient castles.
The stones are still defying the wear and tear of time,
The water surface is also frowning upon all changes.
Thousand year old mirror reflects present and past,
The scenery awakens painful nostalgia in me.
